Communication skills with parents and colleagues

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Learning of the communication skills inside an intensive care unit is essential in order to transmit information efficiently to colleagues and avoid medical faults.
The courses will teach the nurse how to inform parents officially about the current situation, how to inform colleagues during the shift change, how to announce deterioration and how to take a proper perinatal history. The nurses will learn where to seek psychological support, how to take parents’ consent about participation in research or medical interventions and which are their certain roles in case of emergency.
