Nutrition in Neonatal Care

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Because of the increased metabolic demands and the morbidities of the neonates inside the NICUs, the nutrition options vary and are different compared to the adults. The training nurses will learn about the breastfeeding and the banks of human milk, anthropometry of the neonate, enteral and parenteral nutrition and administration of micronutrients and vitamins. They will also gain the skill of placing a nasogastric tube to neonates.
