Basic neonatal pharmacology

LEARNING OUTCOMES

During the everyday work the nurse will administer almost every patient some medication. The knowledge of the basic neonatal pharmacology will help to avoid possible faults during the nursing care of the patients. The nurse will learn about the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, side effects and route of administration. The subjects that are taught include the most common neonatal medicine such as antibiotics, medicine for the pulmonary, cardiovascular, neurological and gastrointestinal system.
